WORKSHOP: Rotoscope animation by watercolor
30 hours
10 students
In collaboration with Sofia Figlié
RUFA Rome University of Fine Arts

The aim of the course will be to produce an animated short of about 180 seconds with the
rotoscoping technique through the use of wet techniques: watercolor and inks. A collective production in which each participant is asked to create 90 drawings on paper that are subsequently digitized and sent in progression on a video editing software.
The aim is to guide the student in the personal search for a visual synthesis through the
watercolor technique; an expressive approach in which instinct and speed of execution have the role
of breaking down some habits sedimented in drawing and contribute to the identification of a new
graphic rendering.
